Graph Editors

So I used Lightwave 3d from version 5.0 uptil version 8. Version 9 and later haven't improved on it at all. Hopefully the redesign of LW in Core will.

Maya's Graph Editor blows LW's Graph Editor out of the water.

Lightwave's Graph Editors curve types are really weird: TCB Spline, Hermite, Bezier, and the two standards aka Linear and Stepped.

There's no way to take a buffer shot of the curve in LW's GE in it's starting position. A buffer shot allows you to make edits and if something goes awry in the editing, you can replace the current curve with the state of the channel with that buffer.

You can't choose between weighted and non-weighted tangents.

You can't break tangents. This is the biggest one for me.

There's no way to set both incoming and outgoing curves. You can set incoming.

You can't delete static keys.

Hopefully Luxology is going fare better in this department when they release Modo 4.01 with their updated animation tools.
